Speaker 1:

Today we're going to talk about living a life with purpose. Before I knew what this really meant, I used to roll my eyes at the idea of this. But living a life with purpose doesn't mean you're living some grandiose, inspirational life that's full of spiritual significance and worthy of dramatic theme music. Uh no, it means something quite a bit different and that, my friend, is exactly what we're going to talk about today. Welcome to Creative Self-Care. I'm your host, crystal McLean, and together we're exploring new and innovative ways to care for the mind, body and mother, love and soul so we can live healthy, empowered lives, individually and collectively. If you enjoy this content, would like to support my work and score some sweet self-care goodies, please consider a Patreon membership for as little as $3 a month Yep three bucks. It's like buying me a cup of coffee. To learn more about memberships and how funds are making a positive impact, you can visit crystalmcclaincreativecom and if you'd like to read along while you listen, you can access this feature through the blog version of this podcast. I'll leave a direct link to this episode in the show notes below.

Speaker 1:

So living a life with purpose simply means that we're attaching meaning to our actions. There's a reason why we're doing something, and the more we can align these reasons with our true wants, needs and values, the more effective and satisfying our actions are going to be. Living from a place of purpose is also going to make it easier for us to make decisions, especially when those decisions are hard ones. Before I got really clear about my own reasons for why I was doing anything in my life, I felt a lot of resistance towards change. Not only that, but I found myself easily distracted or swayed from my goals, and that's because I didn't have anything that really grounded me. And that's the root of all successful self-care is a strong grounding. When we think about something that's grounded, that's deeply rooted, it's strong, secure. It's able to grow exponentially. When something isn't rooted, it's flimsier and more easily manipulated. The more purpose we attach to our actions that actually comes from a heart-centered, wellness-focused place, the more conviction we have, the more confident we feel, the more likely we are to live that healthy, empowered and satisfying life we deserve.

Speaker 1:

And so, if you want to discover your purpose, I would like to invite you to my free, creative self-care course. Over time, I'm going to be sharing scientific insights about the functionality of your brain and body. I'm also going to challenge you to take a look at your biases, mindset and comfort zones, and I'm going to give you prompts that will expand your self-awareness as a whole person. And the reason I'm doing this is so you can grow stronger roots so you can grow exponentially. The more you know about who you are and how you function, the more valuable information you'll have to create your purpose. You will have strong reasons behind not just your self-care practices, but behind most everything you do. So, yeah, purpose, it's important. If you'd like to have access to my entire creative self-care course, you can access this for free. You just have to visit my friends and me over at Patreon. I'll leave a direct link to that course in the show notes below. I love you, I appreciate you, thank you so much for being here and I will see you soon.
